The use of Enduroplank™ recycled plastic decking continues to expand across New Zealand. Our latest installation is a 220 metre section of boardwalk in the Waitara Marine Park. The Taranaki Daily News was on hand when work began in July '16, and published this informative report.
A great thing about Replas products is they utilise soft as well as hard plastics. That's a boon for recycling, as most soft plastics currently go to landfill. Pureavantage.org leads discussion on the economic and environmental benefits of green growth in NZ, and has published on Metal Art's role in soft plastic recycling.
Soft Plastic Recycling has come to Hamilton, with the programme launch at Countdown, Claudelands on 21 March 2016 covered by the Waikato Times. Hear Mayor Julie Hardaker enthuse about the products on display at the launch, that show what Replas and Metal Art can do with recycled soft plastic packaging.
Our factory was busy and just about full to overflowing while making 35 rather large Corten planters for our customer Nelmac to install in the Blenheim CBD. Great to see Marborough District Council report the positive public response.
Wellington's Great Harbour Way is a cycleway/walkway that will eventually stretch from Fitzroy Bay in the east to Sinclair Head in the west. Metal Art was commissioned to create a prototype drinking fountain for installation along the route. It was unveiled at Seaview Marina on 30th March 2016 as reported here by the Dominion Post.
Late 2015 saw a lot of interest in our recycled plastic Dog Agility Tracks. This one at Corban Reserve, Henderson was one of the first to be opened, to great canine excitement. The new dog park construction in Timaru attracted a lot of attention, with this great video posted on the Timaru Dog Parks Trust Facebook page. The project was a real community initiative, the Trust working closely with Timaru District Council and our team to produce a great recreational asset for South Canterbury.
We were heavily involved in fitting out the Oneroa Beachfront Cycle and Walkway in Gisborne, which opened on 1 August 2015. Products we supplied included customised litter bins, bollards, signage and seating all to local design specifications. Gisborne District Council website.
